Celtic defender Lee O’Connor has been sent out on a season long loan to Tranmere Rovers it has been confirmed. The Irishman came in last season but hasn’t made it into the first team as of yet.

A loan spell to Partick Thistle was cut short by the pandemic and the player returned to the club with not much first team experience.

Now Lee has the entire season to get first team action and prove he deserves a chance in this Celtic squad.

The defender was signed from Manchester Utd and there were high hopes he could make an impact early in. It would be Jeremie Frimpong coming in from Manchester City who would take the mantle as break out star in the end.

We’ll be keeping up with Lee’s progress through the season and check in with how the defender is getting on.
