DAIZEN MAEDA has stunned the Celtic support since he signed in January. Fans expected a hard-working pacey winger, but the former Yokohama F. Marinos man has taken the definition to a whole new level.

It didn’t take long for Maeda to impress the Celtic fans, scoring just four minutes into his debut.

Sitting down with Dafabet, the winger decided that his favourite goal was against Bodo/Glimt at home when the Hoops fell to defeat in the Conference League.

His favourite assist was the ball across the box to find Jota to put Celtic a goal to the good in the first half against The Rangers in the 1-1 draw.

Then, he thanked two teammates for helping him settle in at Celtic. ‘GT’ [Greg Taylor] and Josip Juranovic received thanks from the Japanese forward.

Daizen has played an entire season in Japan before continuing in Scotland. Unlike Hatate, there are no apparent signs of fatigue. Heading into next season, he’s set to be an essential player for Celtic.
