A report out this morning has used Celtic to put out a story about Andriy Shevchenko. We thought we would clear up a few statements from Alan Nixon at SunSport. No disrespect to Alan who does have his ear to the ground on many transfer dealings etc, but his latest piece is poor conjecture from the journalist.

The journalist writes in SunSport:

ANDRIY SHEVCHENKO wants to make a managerial move to Britain — and has put Celtic and other clubs on alert.

The 45-year-old also speaks English and has good knowledge of the domestic game.

His availability has got him on wish lists and he could be a surprise choice at Scottish heavyweights Celtic if Ange Postecoglou does not work out.

The former Australia manager has had a tricky start at the Hoops with seven defeats in all competitions so far after his late arrival in the summer.

We’ve seen a some Celtic fans comment on this link already on social media and even one Celtic fan media page running with the story.

Nobody at Celtic has any interest in Andriy Shevchenko at this point in time. He’s not on a wish list and the club are not actively seeking replacements for the manager.

Ange’s struggles at Celtic have made him a prime target for these kind of stories and they only serve to disrupt and spread doubt within the support.

The board know where we are asa club, mainly because it was them who brought us to this point by gross mismanagement – something they will not admit to.

Shevchenko will be throwing his name out there and will be hoping to be linked with all sorts of club’s in Europe over the next period of time.

A legend as a footballer, the Ukrainian still has a way to go as a manager – and we can safely say that’s not going to be at Celtic.
