Aberdeen legend Willie Miller has been discussing Scott Brown potentially signing for the Dons in time for next season under new boss Stephen Glass.

The Celtic captain has been linked with a player/coach move in recent times but as Glass was confirmed as Aberdeen boss, there’s been no official word on what coaches will be joining them.

Brown is in the final few months of his Celtic deal but has been offered reduced terms for another season at the club.

But there’s so much up in the air and the midfielder could have a big role to play at Aberdeen should he move.

Miller believes Brown’s inclusion in an Aberdeen side would be great for the club, even if the fans have a problem with former Celtic players coming to the club.

“I think the red would suit Scott to be honest,” he said on talkSPORT as cited by SUNSPORT “He’s a fabulous player. I think he’s still got mileage as well.

“If he’s got the enthusiasm to combine the playing capacity with the coaching side of the game then at his age it’s probably a move that might excite him.

“If he comes here as a player there’s plenty of young legs around him in that Aberdeen side that he could have a huge influence on for the next season or two.

“It’s an exciting one. Obviously coming from one of the Glasgow clubs doesn’t please all Aberdeen fans but I think when they sit down and think about the quality of Scott Brown, leadership qualities in particular, they’ll look upon it as a positive appointment.”

It would be a culture shock for the Celtic legend if he heads to another team in the SPFL. Also, fans adjustment to see Brown wearing the red would be jarring at first.

Ultimately, Scott Brown has to do what’s best for him and his family. We will likely find out soon where his immediate future lies.
