Watford striker Troy Deeney believes that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard would prove to be a success if he was to make the move down south this summer.

As quoted by the Scotsman, Deeney has backed the Frenchman to be a successful signing for whoever might look to pick him up with the talent and ability that he possesses.

“Edouard I like. [Alfredo] Morelos is different, in front of goal when he is on form he is different class but Edouard is another I really like. He takes his goal. I think he is suited to the top flight in England.

“He is powerful, he is quick enough and has an eye for goal. His goal-scoring record – I don’t think he has been particularly good consistently this season with Celtic – but his goalscoring record for the French-Under-21s is remarkable. He could play in a team in the big league. Absolutely.”

Since signing for the club back in 2018, it would be fair to say that Edouard has been a very successful signing who has proved that over the last few years.

Although, this season has been a bit of a disappointment for the French u21 internationalist as it has for many involved with the club this campaign.

Despite that, as his contract runs down to just 12 months remaining in the summer he is bound to have suitors with the likes of Leicester City reportedly interested in making a move.

This money could be key to the club, as we look to enter a new era with the up-and-coming rebuild this summer.
