Potential Celtic Target Fabrico Bruno looked to have agreed on a move away from Cruzeiro after taking legal action against the cash strapped Brazillian club.

However, the player’s move to newly-promoted Brazillian side Bragantino has collapsed after advice was taken about his current legal battle with Cruzeiro over unpaid wages.

The deal was supposed to go through with Cruzeiro getting much-needed money into the coffers but Bragantino who are now under the control of Red Bull have pulled the plug.

Speaking to RecordSport, the club said:

“We were ordered not to proceed with the transfer after advice from the head office in Austria.

“This is because we have been informed the player still has legal proceedings pending with Cruzeiro. The transfer now won’t happen.”

As Record Sport points out – Celtic had been tracking the defensive midfielder for some time but have never made an official offer. There’s not much chance of the player moving on in the short term if he’s embroiled in a legal battle with his current club.

Celtic are best avoiding this kind of acrimony and focussing on targets who are much less hassle and maybe a little closer to home.
