Former Ibrox player Craig Moore now works as a football agent and he’s been doing the rounds in Glasgow as a pundit during the Euros.

The former Australian defender was asked about Celtic’s transfer status with regards to Mario Vuskovic on Go Radio this week; Moore was able to shed some light on what’s going on claiming he was ‘close’ to this particular deal.

Moore believes the trail has gone cold on Vuscovic to Celtic and it’s been more media hype than anything else.

Moore said: “I’ve been quite close to this one. And it’s a little bit cold, I mean I’ve seen it in the media a lot.

“Certainly hasn’t been coming out of my side or anything like that but look, Vuskovic, is a fantastic player. Thirty nine games in the Croatian top flight.

“A 19-year-old, he’s had interest from Basel which he knocked back.

“He’s had interest from Feyenoord.

“There’s a lot of clubs sniffing him out. But at this moment in time, I don’t think it’s something that Celtic are seriously looking at.

“I think they are looking for someone a little bit more experienced.”

Celtic have been linked with Rubin Kazan defender Carl Starfelt over the past 24 hours; a 26-year-old Swedish centre-back.

Credible transfer source Fabrizio Romano made the claim on social media this week.

Vuscovic would be a compelling signing and would show the club are ready to go with youth in their rebuild. Of course, they will need experience as well and Carl could be that player. Starfelt looks like a solid choice for Celtic if they can get him at the right price.

It’s doubtful Celrtic would sign both players and right now, the only credible news is Celtic are in talks with Starfelt.
