Ben Doak was one of the brightest young stars in the Celtic academy before he departed for Liverpool just over a year ago.

The vivacious attacker was handed his first team debut by Ange Postecoglou at the age of just 16 and became the second youngest player in Celtic’s history when doing so.

Despite first team action, the Scotland youth international couldn’t resist a move to Anfield where he has succeeded.

Even just recently, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp singled him out for praise. The German said (Daily Record):

“Ben Doak, obviously nice signs, he’s with us in training again. Special boy, really confident, has something nobody else delivers really, this kind of dribbling, this kind of straight-forward bravery, all these kind of things.

“Technically really good, high speed, super-promising but very young.”

Saying his manager says he has something no other player can provide is hugely positive for Doak.

At Liverpool, he is clearly thought of highly and the fact Doak already has five appearances for the Reds’ senior team puts testament to this.

Going forward, he will be aspiring to go from strength to strength in the Premier League and with his manager’s backing which he already has, it wouldn’t be difficult to see him do so.
