Former Hibs sporting director Graeme Mathie was spotted in the Celtic directors box today fuelling speculation he could be on the brink of signing up with the club. [RecordSport]

Celtic don’t have a permanent chief executive after Dom McKay only lasted 72 days in the role. Club secretary Michael Nicholson has stepped in and is acting chief executive.

Mathie spent seven years at Hibernian but left his role a month ago.

Could he be part of a new Celtic set up?

The club still need to modernise their structure and make sure the club is on a better footing in the coming years. Ange can do his bit but he needs strong people behind him driving change.

We thought Dom McKay was going to be the man to drag Celtic’s setup into the 21st century, right now, all we’re seeing is a tired board who are accountable to nobody.

It will be interesting to see if Mathie does gain a role within the club.
