ODSONNE EDOUARD scored another two goals for his country on Thursday night taking his goal haul to six in just three games for Les blues.

Eddy had to wait his time before he was called up to the under 21 side but when it came last month he hasn’t missed his opportunity.

The Celtic striker has been in top form for his country – his double against Azerbaijan coming exactly a week after he netted for the bhoys against Cluj in the Europa League.

There’s no doubt he’s now becoming a hot commodity within French football and just like his pal Moussa before him – the player is now building a reputation which will inevitably see the frontman leave Celtic Park.

It’s Celtic’s business model and we have to be realistic. The more Eddy continues to shine the harder it’s going to be to hold onto him. The French media have been gushing in their praise for the Celtic player and while his Celtic departure might be inevitable at some point, the Celtic support will be hoping it’s not too soon!

Lequipe wrote: The striker profited from the largesse of the opposition defence to improve his statistics in cold-blooded fashion.”

Le Parisian were full of praise”The player raised at PSG is in fine form, and the Celtic striker showed it again on the Calais grass of the Stade de l’Épopée.

“While his team-mates sometimes confused speed for haste, Edouard had the merit of putting Les Bleuets definitively in front after a nice touch to take him into the area, followed by a gentle strike which crept inside Ivanov’s right post.”
