Ange Postecoglou has not been able to give Celtic fans a positive injury update for the semi-final against St Johnstone on Saturday. In fact, the hoops boss has added to our injury woes by revealing Gorgios Giakoumakis is out for at least a week.

We knew Carl Starfelt and Tom Rogic were injured but there was hope both would be ready to go after the international break – it’s turned out not to be the case.

Although the manager hasn’t dealt in absolutes when it comes to the duo.

Luckily for Celtic Stephen Welsh is fit and ready to go despite coming off injured on Monday evening for Scotland’s under 21 side.

The bhoys are threadbare because of injuries. We’d expect both Welsh and Bitton to start the semi final at Hampden with Starfelt and Rogic seemingly out of bounds.

A reprieve to the bench for Albian Ajeti appears likely now Giakoumakis is missing. The striker has found it difficult to stay for since coming to Celtic. It’s likely Ange’s high intensity training is playing its part.
