GIORGOS GIAKOUMAKIS was left out of the Celtic squad as the Hoops prepared to retake their position at the league’s top.
After opening a two-point gap last week, Celtic are keen to maintain the lead on their rivals.
After training this week, and available when Ange sat down for his pre-match press conference on Friday, Giakoumkais was available. However, live on Sky Sports, Postecoglou revealed that Giakouamkis was ill but should be fine to play in Wednesday’s game against Ross County in the League Cup.
With a congested run of fixtures ahead, Fans will be relieved that Giakouamkis’ absence isn’t significant, and he should be available for selection when Real Madrid comes to town in just over a week.
However, Celtic has a few games to play before then; Dundee United must be dealt with on Sunday before the team turn their attention to the cup match against Ross County. Then the Glasgow Derby can be thought about, which is under a week away.
