It was made official on Friday but we never got time to digest the information before the football shutdown came into play.

Celtic confirmed they had signed a five-year deal with Adidas, ending months of speculation about the sports brand becoming our new kit manufacturer.

With Adidas on the way in from July, it’s time to say farewell to New Balance and that’s exactly what the club did this weekend with a statement thanking the American based company for their efforts over the years.

However, there were many Celtic fans happy to see the back of New Balance. Whether it be for their design of kits or the quality of some jerseys.

The first impression New Balance made was not the greatest with shirt logos peeling off pretty easily. Some haven’t came around since and they made their feelings known underneath the statement on social media.

It’s unfair to say New Balance was poor. They were OK, they gold trim kit from Celtic’s first treble season is a jersey which will be loved for years to come.

Others, not so much.
