LEIGH GRIFFITHS had reportedly joined an Edinburgh amateur team; however, the former Celtic striker has denied this.

Football Scotland reported that Leigh had joined Sandys, a club in the Lothian and Edinburgh Association’s Premier Division. However, the striker has replied to the story labelling it a ‘load of nonsense’.

Taking to his Instagram story, Leigh Griffiths blasted the news article, saying;

Having had spells at Falkirk and in the lower leagues in Australia with Mandurah City, the forward has returned to Scotland and is now training with David Martindale’s Livingston, although there is no contract on the table the manager has confirmed.

The player is looking to get a new club sorted out, with there not much time left for him before he’s forced to call it a day.

It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up playing his football, but it’s unlikely he’ll find himself playing in the top flight anywhere.
