Celtic announced last week that Harry Kewell would be joining Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff for the upcoming season.

The Aussie coach arrived at Lennoxtown today and faced questions from Gerry McCulloch.

Harry also met with John Kennedy and discussed the team and how Ange expects them to play, although Kewell is familiar with Ange’s brand of football.

The latest addition to the backroom staff opened up on joining Ange Postecoglou at Celtic, telling Celtic TV;

“I’m blown away. I haven’t been at a huge club for a while now so this is all sort of new to me. To come into such a huge club and to see the facilities. The training ground set-up, it’s a perfect size, it’s been a brilliant first day.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting the players first and foremost, then getting to understand their movement patterns and all that.

“Just speaking to John Kennedy for the last hour or so, talking about how they play. It’s similar to my ideas. Working with the manager as well, it’s going to be great, what he likes is similar to what I like.”

Lennoxtwon is a great facility, and with the B team also training there next season it’s set to get used to its full potential.

Champions League Experience

As the Bhoys gear up for Champions League football next season, having a coach like Harry around come come in handy.

In his playing days, he won the Champions League, hopefully, his experience can help Celtic in the competition this season.

He’s played with some great clubs as well, who have also had the pressure to win each week.
