Prior to the international break, Celtic winger Luis Palma began to hit form. The Honduran internationalist scored against Motherwell and although his strike versus Lazio was ruled out, he bounced back with a goal when his side faced Ross County.
It’s a shame the international break came when it did for Palma as he was certainly on an upward trajectory. He can continue it, though, when he returns from Honduras, a nation he is making proud, according to his father.
Palma’s old man said (Diez via Daily Record): “We all know that he is bringing fruit to the family and to Honduras. That goal (against Lazio) was long lived and as parents we know that more will come.”
The 23-year-old’s disallowed strike in the Champions League was gut-wrenching for himself and Hoops fans. Palma’s Dad was left annoyed, too, and he was about to break a table in a restaurant after VAR got involved.
There will be many more opportunities for the attacker to have moments such as that one. It has to be said that at the time, however, many supporters could have easily done what Palma’s father almost did.
