Former Celtic star Chris Sutton has lauded the team’s January signing, Adam Idah, for his crucial role in securing a 2-1 win against Hibernian at Easter Road.
Despite Celtic’s underwhelming performance, characterised by slow play and a lack of urgency, Idah’s composure from the penalty spot proved decisive, earning the team a vital three points in the title race.
Despite the lacklustre team performance, Sutton reserved special praise for Idah, emphasizing his confidence under pressure. “Massive balls from Adam Idah 👏👏. Celtic not at their best but a huge three points. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how you win…Hibs were excellent second half and pushed Celtic all the way.” Sutton remarked on X, formally Twitter.
Celtic were slow, lacking tempo and passing for the sake of passing. They let Hibs into the game after the equaliser.
Idah’s ability to step up and successfully convert two penalties will make some Celtic fans eat their words after many voiced their disapproval of the signing.
He’s on a loan until the end of the season, but reports suggest that Celtic could be able to sign him permanently in the summer for just £3 million, but as there is no portion to buy installed in his contract, this price could fluctuate.
