Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston took to his Instagram story to celebrate his team’s crucial win from his hospital bed, following an early exit from the game due to a head injury.

The defender was stretchered off the field in the opening moments of the match after a collision that resulted in a penalty for Celtic.

Despite the concerning incident, Johnston was conscious when he was transported to the hospital, a relief for teammates and fans alike.

Taking to Instagram, he posted:

The match against Hibernian was tense, with Celtic securing a vital 3 points that pushed them back to the top of the league table, thanks to two penalties from Adam Idah.

The game was fraught with nerves, especially when Hibs equalised, momentarily gaining the upper hand. Celtic’s performance was critiqued for its lack of pace and creativity, continuing a pattern of slow and lateral play that has been evident in recent matches.

Concussion protocol could see the Canadian miss the trip to St Mirren at the weekend.
