There have been some shenanigans this morning as some have tried to lift the mood during the current worldwide health crisis.

It’s April fools day, and with that comes the opportunity to make a fool of somebody.

Ally McCoist became the victim of Laura Wood and Darren Bent this morning on TalkSport when the pair claimed Zlatan Ibrahimovic was on his way to Celtic.

The story goes, Zlatan was inspired by Henrik and wanted to play in those famous hoops. Asked for his reaction to the impending transfer, McCoist was none the wiser and tried to keep his head as he spoke about the deal as cited by RecordSport.

“Going back to when I first signed for Rangers and we had Robert Prytz playing for us, played in a European Cup Final with Malmo against Forest. Of course you’ve got Jonas Thern, Henrik (Larsson), (Johan) Mjallby was a great player for Celtic as well.

“I don’t know if there’s a little bit of that when he was growing that he saw some of the Swedish players playing in Scotland. Clearly he has had an absolutely outrageous career.”

McCoist was in full flow by now as he gushed: “Truthfully, I think it would be great. With Scottish football, we need every boost we can get at this moment in time so I think in terms of the game, what a profile.

“Obviously with Steven Gerrard coming up to Rangers, that gave Scottish football an extra profile. It’s another level again if Ibrahimovic came to Celtic and truthfully, I think it would be fantastic.”

The former Ibrox manager would be put out his misery by the pair and before a long pause, he said : “I think you two are really funny…”.

It was in the spirit of the day but there must have been a slight bit of panic or McCoist considering Celtic were romping home to another league title without Zlatan.

We did our own April Fools this morning. Did you catch it?

We don’t need Zlatan, all we need is Edouard.
