Moritz Jenz says he’s delighted with the new nickname Celtic fans have seemingly gave him since he signed for the Parkhead club.
Speaking on Friday afternoon the Celtic defender was asked if he was aware of the nickname by one reporter – he wasn’t. When told by the same reporter that it was ‘Mercedes Jenz’ he seemed happy.
“Oh, I’ll take this then!” He told Celtic TV.
“I’ll take it, I think that’s fantastic.
“Danke danke!”
I’m going to be honest and say I’ve never heard any Celtic fan call Jenz this to date, either on social media or at the game. We’ll take the reporters word for it.
Moritz has been enjoying a run in the team with Carl Starfelt out injured. The Swede wasn’t fit at the beginning of the season and then went down with a knee injury in the Glasgow Derby.
The German defender is at Celtic on loan at the moment. There’s every chance the club could make the deal permanent if Moritz continues to show his worth.
