The Celtic Foundation’s work over the years has been exceptional.

The foundation is tasked with continuing the ethos of the club, to help the most vulnerable in our society in Glasgow and beyond.

The pandemic has pushed so many people into hardship and turned our lives upside down in a way we couldn’t have imagined in our wildest nightmares.

It’s with great pride I write the Celtic Foundation has gone above and beyond during these troubling times and raised £1.3m to support the most vulnerable groups.

The club sent us this press release below of what they’ve managed to achieve:

Celtic FC Foundation raises £1.3 million to support vulnerable and at risk groups

For more than a year, Celtic FC Foundation have provided support to the most vulnerable, at-risk groups affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, under the banner, ‘Football for Good Fund’ (FFGF), and we’ve now reached £1.3million through the Fund, including our 2020 Christmas Appeal.

Back in March 2020, we were forced to pause our traditional project delivery and fundraising activities, with the entire focus of the Foundation being redirected to alleviating the evolving complications of the COVID-19 crisis in our communities.

We have worked with 82 partner charities, schools and community organisations to supply urgent and vital food and essentials, assistance to challenge fuel poverty, and mental health support to those who need it most in Scotland, Ireland, the wider UK, and overseas.

Every Celtic fan should be proud of this and well done to anyone who contributed in any way they could to achieve a staggering amount of money to help others in need.

We are a community, we are Celtic, a club open to all.

When this pandemic is in the rearview mirror and we have time to reflect, we will certainly be pointing to The Foundation’s efforts.

It’s simply incredible the way they have mobilised in a time when that’s not so easy to do.

Here’s to more money being raised in the future as we worked our way out of this pandemic.
