The international break can be a tedious time for football fans, given the extreme lack of club football for a spell of a few weeks.

Of course, there are the nations of Celtic supporters around the world who will be featuring in some sort of competitive action, with the likes of Scotland playing for a World Cup play-off place – but international football certainly isn’t for everyone.

One country a lot of fans will be keeping an eye on, though, is Japan, with Hoops striker Kyogo Furuhashi featuring for his nation.

This is due to the injury that the popular frontman picked up on a recent international trip a few months ago, which will have peaked the interest of the Japanese international team to Celtic fans in order to make sure Kyogo doesn’t pick up another knock.

The 26-year old was in action for his nation today and came through the game unscathed.

Japan were victorious, defeating Vietnam 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier. Kyogo did not start but came off the bench in the final 15 minutes to feature and see out the three points.

They now face one more test this international break, as they look to narrow the gap on Australia and Saudi Arabia at the top of their qualifying group, facing Oman next Tuesday.

Finger crossed, Kyogo can once again come through this game injury-free.
