IF you’re a Scotland fan you might be happy but it if you’re a Celtic fan you will be concerned with the news coming out of Steve Clarke’s camp on Tuesday morning.

SunSport is reporting the Scotland boss is ready to deal Callum McGregor into the Scotland squad.

The Celtic captain has been missing for the Hoops since their 3-0 win over Ross County and has missed some pivotal games.

There’s a chance McGregor comes back into the fold for Celtic just before the international break but the thought of the midfielder heading out on international duty and putting himself at risk after injury will not go down well with a section of the support.

Callum is a smart lad and he will know his own body and what it’s capable of but at the same time, players do try and push beyond their means if given the opportunity.

Fans were delighted to see Callum commit his best years to the club last week when he signed a new five-year deal at Celtic Park – we miss him on the park and anything that could jeopardise his fitness further would be deeply concerning.

We have no squad depth and missing Callum over the past few weeks has seen us drop five points in the league.
