Celtic’s breakout youngster Jeremie Frimpong will be pinching himself after his fairytale season continues to get better with the news he has been called up to the Dutch under 20s.

The Celtic right-back has played at a lower level for Holland but this will be his first game at under 20 for the 18-year-old.

The rise of Frimpong only really kicked off last month, since making his debut in the League Cup against Partick Thistle. The youngster has been first choice right-back for Neil Lennon and played in the important semi-final game against Hibernian at Hampden.

The youngster looks like he could have a place in the final this December against Steven Gerrard’s men – especially when you consider Elhamed might not make it after picking up an injury in Rome.

The more game time Jeremie gets the better he will become and we hope he smashes it for Holland this international break.
