JEREMIE FRIMPONG. has this evening sent out a message of thanks to Neil Lennon after the manager left Celtic on Wednesday morning.

Frimpong was sold to Bayer Leverkusen in January for a decent fee. At the time, Neil Lennon confirmed the player wanted to go and the club did good business.

The former Celtic manager plucked Frimpong from Manchester City after watching him in a reserve game between Celtic and and City when he first returned to Celtic.

It was only a matter of months before Celtic had signed the player for a nominal fee and it became evident early on that he wasn’t one for the future but a player who could make an impact now.

Frimpong was a permanent fixture during the Neil Lennon treble season. A video clip of the pair celebrating Fraser Forster’s penalty save after during the League Cup final after Jeremie had been sent off is still great watching.

The message today shows Jeremie has no ill-feelings towards the former Celtic manager and it doesn’t appear to be a reason behind why he decided to move on from Celtic.
