Former professional footballer Trevor Sinclair has not made any secret about the fact he’s a big Celtic fan.

So when he was asked about the ‘Old Firm’ game on TalkSport by big blue nose Jim White his comments caught the presenter off guard, so much so, he refused to even acknowledge it.

Trevor proceeded to tail TalkSport listeners that there is no Old Firm game this weekend because that term died with Rangers in 2012 and we now call it the Glasgow Derby.

Celtic haven’t used the term Old Firm for years in an official capacity and their tweet last week was more than aiming a dig at their rivals broken history when they wrote ‘One Club since 1888’.

Sinclair said:

“Obviously the Old Firm died in 2012 when Rangers went into administration.

“The Glasgow derby, the rivalry is still there, but it’s on a different level now because of the success that Celtic have had.

“I think the police need to keep a very strong stance.”

It’s crazy that this is even contentious. In Scotland, it doesn’t pay in the mainstream media to admit anything other than Rangers somehow miraculously found themselves in League 2 for no reason whatsoever.

In truth, they became insolvent, they didn’t pay their debtors, they couldn’t agree a CVA and the club ceased to trade. These are all facts; however cognitive dissonance will get you so far in today’s society. Rangers Fans think they’ve stumbled on a fantastic way to shed all your debts with no real repercussions.

Their players left, their stadium was bought by a new entity and they started again. If you tell Gers fans this, they will laugh it off because they either need to, or believe their own lies. I’ll go with the latter.

Trevor Sinclair, spot on!

  1. Well done big trevor the huns need reminded of this every time this game crops up season after season.
The brain dead will believe this crap till the day they die, more to be pitted I guess.Thinking they can get away with all the tax cheating and lies. They couldn’t lace the mighty Glasgow Celtics boots.HH

  2. It’s their insistence on their ‘forces day’, or wtf they call it, when at the time the British army fighting in the middle east were known to be under funded and fighting without essential protective armoury. High grade beers and such the government at the time couldn’t afford! They were known by the Tanks as ‘The Borrowers’, as they would scrounge protective gear from them, and the whole time the huns were denying them funds they desperately needed, costing uncountable squaddie lives.
Then they robbed the family of Lee Rigby!!
Where do you even begin with this???

  3. Yea the foe tell their children ‘ yes santa Claus exists ‘.
Every year since 2012 they tell them ‘rangers since 1873 exist’. We all know most kids will grow as people and tell their children the same thing. But in reality, it’s just a lying king pyramid scheme, to make money from the soft headed ugly masses of West Coast Scotland.
