KIERAN TIERNEY has revealed he was one of the first to hear that Patrick Roberts was coming back to Celtic but he was sworn to secrecy.
The Celtic defender who struck up a bromance with Roberts was in contact with the player all through the summer, and while the rest of the Celtic family held their breath about a return, Kieran knew it was just a matter of when.
“I knew he was coming back before most! I knew for a wee while before obviously all the paperwork was done and I knew that he was looking to get back up but I was sworn to secrecy! I had promised to keep my mouth shut.” said Tierney.
“I haven’t seen him yet so I am looking forward to catching up with him today.
“He has already proven himself at Celtic. That is why the fans wanted him back so badly and why the manager wanted him back.
Roberts could slot straight back into the team this Friday against Hamilton. The player will be hoping he can get back up to speed quickly for the PSG tie next week.
