Former Celtic star Kieran Tierney has paid tribute in a very different way, placing the club’s crest on his shin guards ahead of Arsenal’s match against Chelsea.

The left-back took to his Instagram to show fans his specially made shin-guards which had the Celtic badge printed on one leg and the Arsenal badge on the other, with his nickname – ‘KT’ and both his old number at his boyhood club (63) and current number (3) emblazed across the middle.

These clearly proved to be good luck as the Gunners picked up three points in the London derby against Chelsea winning 3-1.

In what has been a poor period for the London based club, Tierney has been a shining light putting in several impressive performances, which continued yesterday as the number three won the penalty that resulted in his side taking the lead.

Just over 18 months ago, the 22-year old departed the club he has supported from a young age for a record transfer fee of £25 million.

It is good to see academy prospects such as Tierney leaving the club and showing exactly what he can do becoming one of the top left-backs in the country, whilst also continuing to show his love for the club with gestures such as this.
