Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi has reserved praise for Hoops teammates Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic for their roles in his two strikes, leading Ange Postecoglou’s side to silverware.

The 26-year old added a second-half double to help the Hoops lift the first trophy of the campaign. However, Kyogo was quick to point out the contributions of the whole team.

Including the quick thinking of McGregor and Rogic, releasing the frontman 1-on-1 with Hibs goalkeeper Matt Macey.

“It’s nice to score the goals, but everything we do, we do it together as a team, and I need to say that the passes I received from Callum and Tom were fantastic,” he said, as quoted by Football Scotland.

“I know it is my job to find the net, but any forward needs support and to receive great assists like that makes my job a bit easier.

“So this win is about every one of us at the club working hard together and doing all we can to bring our fans success. We are glad we did and hope our fans enjoyed the day as much as we did.”

From supporters who watch Kyogo week in, week out, we know that he can be a little of a frustrated figure for not always receiving a pass in behind the opposition defence after a clever run of his markers.

However, the pass to the popular striker by the Celtic duo were inch-perfect and played their part in two brilliant goals, which will be remembered for years to come.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning, and we can continue to see those three players, as well as others in the squad, continue to make huge contributions as they continue to bond as a group.
