LASK forward Samuel Adeniran believes the Austrian champions are not out of the tie against Celtic just yet, despite trailing 3-0 ahead of tomorrow night’s second leg at the Raiffeisen Arena.
He said (TCW): “It’s just football to be honest, anything is possible when you are on the field.
“There are 90 minutes to turn things around. Hopefully, we’ll be able to score three as well. Anything can happen. So we’re just going to give our best.
“We just focus on taking it minute by minute and getting out first goal and going on from there. It’s not easy to come back from 3-0 down. Everyone knows that. I believe anything is possible.”
The pace of Auston Trusty and solidity of Cameron Carter-Vickers were instrumental in dealing with Adeniran last Wednesday.
Asked about the potential absence of Trusty, who missed training earlier today, Adeniran added: “Both are good centre-backs, strong in the air as well.
“For me, I think that in the next game I definitely have to come with my best quality.
“These are good centre-backs I’m up against. They did a good job. For my striking partner and me, we definitely have to be on our game.”
The US striker showed his threat in behind during the first leg, but the timing of his runs, combined with the intelligence of Celtic’s back four, meant he was consistently flagged offside and left frustrated.
Trusty is believed to be a doubt for tomorrow night’s game after missing training, with Celtic boss Martin O’Neill set to provide an update at his pre-match press conference.
Liam Scales is the most likely option to start alongside Carter-Vickers if Trusty is not fit enough to feature.
