Sportmediaset is reporting Celtic are looking to sign Diego Laxalt on a permanent basis this summer.

Laxalt’s time at Milan is set to come to an end one way or another this summer but the latest report put Celtic in the driver’s seat for his signature.

There have been conflicting reports on this and there are two reasons why we’re not buying this current report;

1. Diego’s asking price is at least above the £5m mark.

2. There is nobody at the club capable of making that decision at the moment.

Having covered the rumour mill over the years we can spot a lazy report a mile off.

Laxalt has been back in the side after Greg Taylor got injured and now the Italian press are just assuming Celtic will be in the running to buy Diego this summer.

There has been no indication from the club they’re about to take up an option on the defender.

Sky Sports even have his loan option fee sitting at £9m, which is around £6m more than the club should look to pay.
