Lazio spokesman Arturo Diaconale has came out and slammed the Lazio fans who shamed their club again walking through the streets of Glasgow on Thursday night after videos emerged.

Hours before kick-off we were treated to video clips of a group of Lazio fans marching to Celtic Park making Nazi salute gestures as they walked along Glasgow City Centre.

This is a fanbase who have got their club charged with racist behaviour and have some of their stadium closed off for the reverse fixture with Celtic in Rome and if they are found to take part in this kind of stuff again a full stadium ban would immediately be issued by UEFA.

The statement by Lazio which has been printed by SunSport this evening has strong words for the people who continue to use Lazio as a vehicle for racism and fascism.

“These are incidents that damage the club and therefore we could take action for damages.

“We cannot prevent the entry of these racists into the stadium, but we will do all in our power to limit their actions.

“These people are bringing Hitler into Lazio and that is a huge mistake. The vast majority of those who make up the Lazio supporters hate those who have anything to do with Hitler.

“It is wrong to generalise our fans because it is not the actions of all our supporters. But they are giving the impression with their actions that Lazio is a racist club around Europe. These are provocations and actions aimed at damaging society.

“Nobody remembers that we sent a delegation from the club to visit Auschwitz last year.

“Our stadium has been politicised by some fans who think these actions are relevant. We are paying the price for a social phenomenon that has spread over the years.”

On the field, Celtic gave their Italian counterparts a bloody nose, coming from a goal behind to beat the Serie A club on the night.

The Celtic fans were magnificent on the night and let it be known they don’t tolerate fascism and spoke to any Lazio fan who had that mindset.

  1. Two scenarios hear ,the rangers dodged the war, and the Italians had tanks that had only revers gears and they. Both like to promote the Nazi’s salute

  2. More rife in Germany and Russia just now, not so much at the death star. But in the streets of Glasgow before and after sevco play. Nazi saluting contiues to abase.
