According to reports, Celtic players didn’t get official word over the managerial departure until Wednesday morning.

The players were seemingly unaware of what was going on behind the scenes at Lennoxtown on Tuesday when the club were in crisis take with the manager.

The news broke late on Tuesday evening that Neil Lennon would not be continuing as the manager of the football club. At which point we reported on the news and know from our social media feeds that some of the players would have seen the news then.

RecordSport reports, the bhoys turned up to Lennoxtown this morning to hear the official news that the manager had resigned and his former assistant John Kennedy will take the team from now until the end of the season.

With any managerial departure at any club there will be players happy and there will be players sad to see him go.

Celtic must now look to the future and begin the task of becoming champions of Scotland from August onwards.
