Liel Abada left Celtic earlier this year, after becoming unsettled due to the ongoing situation in his homeland.

The Israeli winger spent just two and a half seasons at the club, contributing with 29 goals and 22 assists.

At Charlotte, he’s remained among the goals, scoring three in his first nine matches.

Abada has quickly risen to become the club’s highest-paid player. His annual salary of €2.3 million (£1.81 million), as reported by The Herald, not only sets a new high for Charlotte FC but also highlights the lucrative nature of his new chapter in the United States.

This financial package includes potential bonuses and loyalty payments, potentially increasing his earnings to about $2.5 million (£1.971 million) annually.

According to Salary Sport, Liel Abada was on £17,000 a week at Celtic, that’s £884,000 a year.

Celtic will need to replace Abada this summer, though. They brought Kuhn in the January window, and has looked good so far, but when you look past him there’s not much depth on the right wing.

  1. Wouldn’t class our wide areas of a massive concern at the moment imo?
Fair to say it was one of concern a year ago, and wasn’t addressed in the most successful manner either.
The first half of last season, the adjustments Rodgers was looking for in the wider areas, weren’t successful, especially with the amount of different options used, being tried out.
It was only really in the latter stages of last season, where a better form of consistency and stability finally starting to get delivered and providing better outcomes for ourselves?
The structure might have been with forrest as a fifth wide player and 3rd option on either wing, but that changed to great effect for ourselves. Forrest even played himself into a 1st choice role also, which again highlights just how important squad depth remains for ourselves?
Currently if the structure of the squad remains the same, we could be looking at Maeda and Palma on the left, kuhn and yang on the right, with forrest available for either side, along with vata as another wide option if he signs a new contract?
So fairly well covered, especially as I would be expecting more from Palma, Kuhn and Yang as they should be far more familiar with Rodgers expectations next season imo?
Think yang might need a good preseason and start to next season to confirm his squad place for the season, as a loan deal away could be in the reckoning, and a potential replacement found imo?
However, still don’t think what we currently have in place for the season ahead, somehow won’t be what will end next season imo?
We may have a bit of a mix and match options available to ourselves in the wider areas, but still believe Rodgers will look to better his options, throughout the course of the season also imo?
