According to reports in the US, top Celtic target Mark McKenzie is on the brink of a move to Belgian side Genk.

The Hoops have been chasing the American defender for some time and could’ve brought the New York born footballer in during this summer window.

The club opted for Shane Duffy at the time and have still been keeping tabs on Mark.

It has emerged the Philadelphia Union player is Belgium bound and presents a major blow to Celtic before the market opens on January 4th.

Celtic are horrible at getting deals done early and have missed out on many targets in the past because they like to take their time.

Hopefully more defensive targets have been identified because it’s an area of the pitch the club need to boost.

Elhamed is likely to leave in January and we’re one injury away from having to shuffle our whole defence.

  1. Who buys players who are of no use to us, except to warm the subs bench. There are rumours the coaching team are not chosen by the manager? Also players are brought in without the manager being involved? Somebody at Celtic has to get a grip. We want players who can do a job, NOT bit part players with no real pedigree. Turnbull is a top class player and he was the exception in the summers incomers. Stop wasting money on players who are no better, maybe even worse than we already have. Last question, why is Bitton still at Celtic? Slow, telegraphs passes, easily shut down, and poor passing. Time to move him on. Mon the Tic!
