CALLUM MCGREGOR has told CelticTV the bhoys are desperate to make up for their poor Ibrox showing last time out in December. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s game, the Celtic midfielder revealed everybody is focused on getting a result come Sunday.

McGregor admitted Celtic’s shortcomings in their final game of 2018 without making excuses.

“We never played well enough on the day and that’s been burning in the players’ heads since. Everyone’s fully focused on the job.”

“You learn a lot from days like that and we’ve not lost a domestic game since. That day helped us as you learn a lot in defeat. We are really looking forward to Sunday with a point to prove.”

Celtic lost 1-0 in Brendan Rodgers’ last Glasgow Derby in charge of the club where the Irishman seemed to take liberties with the squad he put out on the day. Yes, Celtic were injury-ravaged but to start a young Mikey Johnstone up front on his own was a move even at the time Celtic fans were scratching their heads.

The bhoys go to Ibrox with some back up this time and could call on a whole host of lads to get the result on the day. Oli Burke could be a wildcard pick on the day if Lennon is feeling adventurous.
