NEIL LENNON has shed some light on Scott Bain’s injury after conflicting reports on Thursday evening.
The goalkeeper suffered an injury during Celtic’s disappointing defeat to Cluj on Tuesday. The speculation has been about how long this injury will keep the Celtic number one out of action, however, Neil believes the player will be back in training next week.
Neil Lennon says Scott Bain has dislocated his thumb and needs a splint fitted – but he should be back training next week.
He says they’ll wait to see the extent of the damage before talk of any replacement, but insists it wasn’t a position he was looking to strengthen before. pic.twitter.com/A3IQBCe8E6

A dislocated thumb will more than likely keep Bain out of Celtic’s first leg against AIK on Thursday also.
The injury means we’ll get no clarity into what Neil Lennon is thinking with regards to the goalkeeper situation. A couple of shaky performances from Bain have put Gordon back in contention for a starting XI spot.
Lennon could have played Gordon anyway against Dunfermline to rest Bain or he could have outright dropped the keeper. We’re unlikely to know if this is the case until Bain is fully fit.
