NEIL LENNON has taken up a post at The Times for the summer where the Irishman is being paid to write columns about the Euros.

The former Celtic manager has focused in on Scotland ahead of their first game of the tournament on Monday. Speaking about his former player, Lennon revealed Ryan Christie will be putting himself in the shop window.

Ryan has only six months left on his Celtic deal and can walk away for free in the January window. Neil likely knows Ryan fancies a move away and the midfielder could have been part of the group of players he targeted after a Champions League defeat.

At the time, Neil said he was ‘fed up’ of some players not wanting to be at the club and if they want to go, then just go. He famously put the same side out three days later.

Writing in his column, the former Celtic captain detailed Ryan’s likely ambition and his best position. Considering Ryan was played wide right a lot last season, it’s a bit infuriating.

“With Ryan Christie’s contract situation at Celtic he’ll want to put himself in the shop window and try to peak for this tournament.

“Steve has gone with Ryan off the striker and I think that works for him

“Number ten is Ryan’s best position. He’s a fit lad, he gets around the pitch. You need legs all over the park.”

Scotland kick-off their campaign at 2pm on Monday afternoon against the Czech Republic. The whole country will likely be tuning in to watch the first game.
