NEIL LENNON has dropped a major transfer hint that he will look to bring in another striker this summer window in order to have options going forward.

The Irishman has praised Odsonne Edouard for carrying the can for a lot of last season when Leigh Griffiths was out and Bayo injured after coming to the club.

It was fitting it would be the Frenchman to score a brace to win the Scottish Cup at the end of the last campaign. His hard work paying off and showing just how important he is to the team.

Lennon wants to give Edouard some help and more importantly, he wants to be able to play two up front at times next season. The Celtic boss envisions a Celtic side who can switch between one and two strikers depending on their opposition.

Asked by the Herald if Celtic could spend big again to land another striker, Lennon said: “Possibly. Or, you could find them out there and, depending on players’ situations with their contracts, wages, that sort of stuff, you may be able to get good players for less.”

“Sometimes I want to play with two strikers, but I’ve not had that luxury,” he said. “I’m not saying I am going to play two all the time but I think it’s something that certainly you could set your team up with to vary the balance of the attack sometimes.”

Bayo and Griffiths are both fit now to help Eddy out next term. Both got on the scoresheet in the 2-1 win over Wiener SC on Saturday evening.
