SKY SPORTS journalist has given an update on Neil Lennon and the Celtic board’s thinking after a weekend of unrest following the Hibs draw.
The club are clearly briefing the media on what’s going on but will not address the issues head on because a vote of confidence in public would be seen too drastic a move.
As far as Celtic are concerned, it’s business as usual. Neil Lennon’s position is secure and he has the backing of the hierarchy. They see it as being within reach of 5 points of Rangers, with 25 games to go – including 3 derbies. Mounting pressure now, but they’re not panicking.

If pressure is mounting, celtic aren’t showing it. The issue for fans is the performances and the way the Celtic manager has been dealing with poor form in his post-match interviews.
There has been a build up since August with poor results and horrible performances in the Champions league qualifiers, the Glasgow Derby and the Sparta Prague in the Europa league. Let’s also remember we failed to register a shot on target against our city rivals during the derby; unforgivable.
For now, Neil Lennon has the backing and the board are making it clear.
Supporters are concerned the manager looks spent and things will only unravel more from here. We have to wait and see but another heavy defeat and dropped points and Celtic fans will likely snap.
