Neil Lennon laughed off any suggestion he would’ve made a move for Ryan Kent after finding out the player’s fee this summer.

Kent spent last season on loan to The Rangers and won absolutely nothing. His stats don’t match up to the likes of Ryan Christie and when he did score against Celtic his team still went on to lose the game.

The hype and hysteria returned to Ibrox just a day after Celtic handed them a sobering reality with a 2-0 defeat in their own backdoor.

The media are not known for their intelligent questions but asking Neil Lennon if he would have put a cheeky bid in for Kent is up there with thinking Steven Gerrard’s men were going to win 4-0 last Sunday.

Here was Lennon’s response.

“Why would I?” he told SunSport.

“I have Mikey Johnston, Forrest, Shved, I’ve got Elyounoussi, Sinclair and Hayes. I’ve got Morgan. So we’re covered in that area.”

Name dropping Sinclair in there is interesting. We’ve seen nothing of the player in recent times. Now the window is closed and he’s not going anywhere – I wonder if he’ll come back into the fold.
