NEIL LENNON was asked about his centre-back’s performance after he watched his team drop two points in only the second game of the new SPFL season.

Jullien has a torrid time against the big Kilmarnock striker Kbamba and gave away a penalty to allow Killie back into the game.

So many times Jullien and Ajer found the target man too much – it was very disheartening to see and reminiscent of the games away to Livingston last term.

Asked about Jullien performance, the Celtic manager acknowledged the player hadn’t been at his best BUT he was not throwing anyone under the bus.

“It’s poor, but Chris will get better as the season goes on. He needs more games.” Lennon told RecordSport.

“It’s sloppy from his point of view but we’re not going to throw anybody under the bus, it’s a team effort and we didn’t do enough to win the game, or didn’t create enough chances to win the game.

“We certainly had enough momentum particularly in the second half to have won it.”

Celtic now have to play catch up in the league, there’s a long way to go, but if we have any desire to make history, we can’t have too many off days like today.

Teams are always going to play the way Kilmarnock did today against Celtic and it’s up to the players to break these sides down.

  1. The team we need for hard games should read Barkas, abo elhamad, Jullien, k ajer
    O Nitcham ,n bitton c McGregor
    Griffith’s, elluonoussi. T rogic
    Edouard
    Sub’s Brown,frimpong, kimala, Forrest, bolinggoli.

The team would have a bite in attack, and able to hold an attack if all fit to play
