The manager’s last result with the side was a 1-0 loss to New Salamis, with the game finishing 48 minutes prior. The side sit 7th, with the poor from and inconsistency reasoned for the Northern Irishman’s dismissal.

Many were under the illusion that Lennon was doing a decent job with the club; however, that’s not the case. After just two wins in the opening seven games, the side sit seventh.

Despite bringing European football to the club, after winning a domestic cup last season, he’s been given his marching orders before Christmas.

Just spare a thought for Gary Hooper and Adam Matthews who were brought to the club by Neil Lennon this summer.

Lennon will now attempt to find a new job, but it will prove a tricky challenge after surviving just seven months in Greece.

In the statement released by the club, they thanked Lennon;

“We inform you that we have agreed with Mr. Neil Lennon to stop our collaboration.

“Mr. Lennon took over the technical leadership of our team last March, at a difficult time and managed to lead us to winning the cup and then to the historic qualification against KAA Gent and our entry into the Uefa Europa League groups, where we came close to historic results against Real Sociedad and Manchester United.

“Unfortunately, the ongoing competitive instability and the significant losses of points in the championship, are the main reasons that made us decide to end our partnership.

  1. Very Harsh , but sadly I fear the same thing happening to Broony at Fleetwood soon as it also happened to Zico at Hartlepool. No patience with managers in The game now .
