DEREK MCINNES has revealed that the door is firmly shut on Aberdeen making a permanent move for Ryan Christie.

The Celtic loanee’s time at Aberdeen is now up as he can’t play against his parent club in the final game of the season. Prompting many Aberdeen fans to ask the question if The Dons would be pushing to sign the midfielder.

McInnes did not have good news on that front for his support.

“Celtic made it clear that he has to go back for pre-season,” McInnes said.

“Brendan said he’s part of their plans going forward so that for me kills it unless it changes from Celtic’s point of view.”

Christie will be due back for preseason with the rest of the Celtic squad ready to make an impact.

As we reported on, with Patrick Roberts leaving Celtic at the end of the season, it’s the perfect time for Christie to show his worth.

Aberdeen come to Celtic Park on Sunday hoping for a win against the Champions to secure second spot.
