The January transfer window is set to close on Monday evening and Celtic can be happy with the business they’ve done when it comes to incomings.
When it comes to outgoings, we’ve had some movement. Ewan Henderson is effectively gone, Leigh Griffiths has been paid off, several young players have gone out on loan to get much needed game time.
However, there are some players sitting on Celtic’s books that the club would like to move on.
Vasilis Barkas is at the top of the list.
The goalkeeper has no future at the club. CeltsAreHere.com was told by a reliable source at the start of the month Barkas and his agent were given range to drum up interest and see what was out there.
To this point, there’s been a few nibbles but Celtic insisting on a loan fee and a high percentage of the goalkeeper’s wages being paid by any loan club has stopped most suitors in their tracks.
Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos gave this update to his social media followers.
As it stands: not many chances for Vasilis Barkas to leave Celtic at this transfer window. Clubs from Championship (except Sheffield United) and two clubs abroad were interested in Barkas but no offers as we speak@CelticFC #CelticFC #Celtic #Barkas

Things can change very quickly in the final days of the transfer window. Celtic will be hoping to see some movement, but they might have to ease up on their demands on any loan deal that could come in.
