The rumour mill surrounding a potential Gordon Strachan return to Celtic Park has supporters talking. [Record Sport]

There’s the eternally positive who wouldn’t mind the former Celtic gaffer getting a technical director role but there are plenty more who believe it smacks of desperation and imagination.

Of course, this could all be rumours sparked by a suggestion somewhere in the Celtic hierarchy that they’re looking at Gordon as a potential candidate.

To me, it shows you how much of a farce our employment drive has been. The club’s season was effectively over in January, yet we sit in June with a half a puzzle when the picture should be very clear.

The stagnation and inability to procure targets quickly and effectively have set the club back for sure. We just don’t know by how far at the moment.

IF Gordon Strachan is a candidate to come back into the club to help Ange, it would be clear to me who is still making the big decisions at Celtic Park – Dermot Desmond.

Dermot has a great affinity for Gordon since his time at the club. It was Desmond who approached the Scot to takeover from Celtic legend, Martin O’Neill back in 2005.

I think Gordon Strachan is a great ambassador for Celtic and I enjoy how much he has bought into the club since 2005. However, I’d like him to continue to be an ambassador and not hold a position of power at the club 16 years after he was first appointed.

  1. I’ve never forgotten or forgiven him for costing us 4 in a row in 2009.
Brought back an unfit Maloney in place of McGeady for vital game at Ibrox which we lost with Maloney hardly kicking a ball. No one can convince me it wasnt personal against McGeady who Strachan had no time for
