CELTIC played their first pre-season friendly on Wednesday and the new manager utilised the whole squad for the game; winning 3-1 on the day thanks to goals from Albian Ajeti, Owen Moffat and Odsonne Edouard.

Playing in three, thirty-minute bursts, Ange Postecoglou named two separate sides who would line up for Celtic. The first side got 60 minutes to show what they could do apart from Barkas who was taken off for the Bain at the 45 minute mark.

Liam Shaw got his debut in a Celtic shirt and did very well. The size of Liam didn’t become apparent until we seen him run out for the start of the game.

The midfielder looked assured and put a good shift in as he turned out against his former club so early after leaving.

The majority of fans on social media were in agreement Liam had done well on his debut and it bodes well going forward.

Considering we picked up Liam on a pre-contract and only had to pay a nominal FIFA imposed fee for the midfielder, it could be a very good piece of business for the club.

Celtic have a lot of games coming thick and fast, Liam could find himself in some big ties early on in his Celtic career.
