Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has given a strong response when questioned around the current speculation surrounding defender Kristoffer Ajer.

The Norweigan looks set to complete a move to recently promoted English Premier League side Brentford in a club-record deal for the Bees.

However, as quoted by the Daily Record, Postecoglou offered a strong response when questioned around his future, stating he is only focussing on those committed to the club at this stage.

“I’m not thinking about that stuff. The guys who are going to leave will leave; that’s not my department. I’m concentrating on what’s in front of me.

“He wasn’t involved today. I’m concentrating on the ones who are involved.

“I can’t afford to waste time on anyone other than the ones who are here and committed to being here.”

With recent comments and reports, adding in with the fact the 24-year old defender wasn’t involved in any of the pre-season fixtures in the last few weeks, it has been clear that his exit was going to come inevitably.

So, Ange, in a sense, is right with his comments. The 55-year old has a huge task on his hands going into this week’s Champions League qualifying tie, so he cannot afford to focus on those who don’t want to be here and won’t be in the very short term future.

The defender will likely complete his move before the end of the 2nd round of qualifying, which should hopefully add some much-needed funds to the manager’s transfer budget.
