Former Premier League striker Kevin Philip’s is tipping free agent Jordan Ibe for a move to Celtic this summer -— insisting it would be a great move for the winger.

One has been linked with Celtic before, more specifically with Neil Lennon in charge. There was murmurings of a loan deal happening last summer but nothing came of it.

The midfielder is getting set to leave Bournemouth next month when his contract expires. The club happy to let one of their biggest ever signings go to ease the wage bill.

Ibe was also out in the cold at Bournemouth and now must look to resurrect his career somewhere.

Phillips believes a move to Parkhead could be the making of Ibe.

[A move to Celtic] could be a great move for him. Go and resurrect his career and show everyone what a top player he is.” Phillips told Football Insider.

Celtic are in the market to bolster their squad this summer. It’s imperative the recruitment is right. Ibe would have to take a big step down in wages for the club to even consider bringing him in.
