Former Celtic player and current Sky Sports pundit, Davie Provan has praised Norweigan winger for bouncing back and proving his critics wrong after becoming the ‘fall-guy’ for the phone incident which took place during the Sparta Prague defeat.

Writing for his weekly column for Sunsport, Provan went as far as to comparing his third goal, which was a brilliant headed effort, to one which you would see Cristiano Ronaldo scoring on his day.

“Mohamed Elyounoussi couldn’t have done more to shut up his critics against Motherwell.

“The Fir Park header that completed his hat-trick could have been from Cristiano Ronaldo’s collection. The fall guy for the Sparta Prague debacle after being caught on his mobile, the Norwegian reminded everyone of his ability.

“It was a top performance from a top player.”

Going back to the situation last week, many fans felt Moi was harshly criticised for the situation in the Sparta Prague game in which he was spotted on his phone after being subbed off in the 4-1 defeat.

If there still was any doubt about his commitment to go out and score a hat-trick told the whole story and as Provan says he certainly shut-up his critics.

We have already said it several times this season, but hopefully, Elyounoussi and the entire squad have finally turned a corner, so we can build on this to go on a long run of winning games.
